Order on Petition to Proceed In Forma Pauperis ~Util - Set/Reset Deadlines
Fri 12/20 4:14 PM
TEXT ORDER entered by Judge Colleen R. Lawless on 12/20/2024. The Court DENIES Plaintiff's Petition to Proceed in Forma Pauperis3 . Plaintiff filed his complaint1 and a petition to proceed in forma pauperis. However, Plaintiff's trust fund ledgers show that during the last three months, Plaintiff received two settlements totaling $732 and an additional $187 from family members and other sources. Accordingly, because Plaintiff had not shown that he is impoverished, the Court DIRECTS Plaintiff to pay the $405 filing fee within fourteen days of the entry of this order. See Merritte v. Templeton, 493 F. App'x 782, 784 (7th Cir. 2012) ("A litigant wishing to proceed in forma pauperis must show that he is unable to pay required filing fees."). Failure to comply will result in the dismissal of this case. (KE) |
