54 54 order Order on Motion to Stay Mon 04/21 4:56 PM
PAPERLESS ORDER. THIS MATTER is before the Court on Plaintiffs and Defendants Attorney General James Uthmeier and Statewide Prosecutor Nicholas B. Cox's Joint Motion to stay Defendants' deadline to respond to the Complaint and all discovery deadlines (DE34 ) and Plaintiffs and the State Attorney Defendants' Joint Motion for a Stay of Deadlines to Respond to Complaint and Discovery Deadlines (DE39 ) (together "Motions to Stay"). In the Motions to Stay, all Parties request a stay of Defendants' joint response deadline and the Parties' discovery deadlines in light of the impact that Plaintiffs' pending Motion for Preliminary Injunction (DE4 ) ("Motion for PI") will have on the case and the likelihood any order on the Motion for PI will be appealed. See Pinares v. United Techs. Corp. , No. 10-80883 CIV, 2019 WL 8129287, at *1 (S.D. Fla. Feb. 12, 2019) (using the "district court['s] broad discretion to stay its own proceedings" pending appeal because the appellate ruling would likely simplify the issues and no party would be unduly prejudiced by the stay). Upon review of the Motions and the record, it is ORDERED AND ADJUDGED that the Motions to Stay (DE 34 ; DE 39 ) are GRANTED . Defendants' deadline to respond to the Complaint (DE 1 ) and the Parties' discovery deadlines are STAYED until further order of the Court. All other deadlines remain in place. Signed by Judge Kathleen M. Williams on 4/21/2025. (cgd)

53 53 order Order on Motion for Extension of Time to File Response/Reply/Answer Mon 04/21 4:42 PM
PAPERLESS ORDER. THIS MATTER is before the Court on Defendants' Unopposed Motion to Extend Time to File Response to Motion for Leave to Proceed Anonymously (DE51 ) ("Motion"). In the Motion, Defendants request a fourteen (14) day extension of their time to respond to Plaintiffs' Motion for Leave to Proceed Anonymously (DE33 ), due to the demands of Defendants' briefing deadlines in this case and others. Upon review of the record and the Motion, and in light of the fact that the Motion is unopposed, it is ORDERED AND ADJUDGED that the Motion (DE51 ) is GRANTED . Defendants shall file their joint response to Plaintiffs' Motion for Leave to Proceed Anonymously (DE33 ) on or before May 9, 2025 . Signed by Judge Kathleen M. Williams on 4/21/2025. (cgd)
